Since I was a little kid, I have always dreamed of becoming a teacher. I had a couple of influences and inspirations that made me want to pursue a career in education.
My parents are a huge reason as to why I want to become a teacher. My father was a music teacher back in his day, and he would appreciate it if I followed his footsteps. However, my parents encouraged me to be whoever I wanted to be, and if I set my mind to it, I can achieve it. However, there was one point in my life, where I wanted to become a doctor, a lawyer and a flight attendant. So, at the time, I was unsure of what I wanted in life.
By the time I reached 9th grade, one of my teachers inspired me that teaching is something I would really love to do. She made learning easy to comprehend and fun to do. She always knew how to get the whole class involved and interact with one another. I realized that I would like to do the same thing someday. If there were something that a student didn’t understand, she would help them until they fully understood it.  Some teachers would have just move along with the lesson, because we’re wasting time. The whole point in teaching is for students to gain knowledge.
Teaching doesn’t always have to be in a classroom. It can be anywhere. For example, coaching. It’s just the same concept except we’re learning on the court. My coaches that helped guide me through sports are one of my inspirations. They taught me teamwork and how it’s good to help each other. Discipline, is another thing. Despite that we want to win, it’s all about just having fun because at the end of the day, it’s just a game. The only thing that matters is that we’re learning.

As I’m getting older, I realized that teaching is definitely right for me. I really love helping people. It absolutely makes me feel good inside. I used to tutor my neighbor and once I see his face light up when he gets a question right, it is quite fulfilling knowing that I made that happen. I want to be able to do that to other students as well. I want to be able to make a difference. I want to be able to enlighten students to becoming an aspiring teacher like me. I just want to inspire and change lives.  So, until I get where I want to be, I’m just going to keep following my dreams.
